The civil rights Movement has been a huge part of US history. The civil rights movement was created by discrimination against those with dark pigmented skin. These families would be discriminated against in multiple ways including not being allowed to interact with "whites."
This discrimination got to a point where a dark pigmented person was not allowed in a simple diner, had to use a different public restroom, water fountain, and also, couldn't go to school with "whites." Many protests were held. These protests included some white's who had been against racial discrimination. These protests could have become violent and in many instances, blacks were beaten, hosed, sent to jail, and attacked by dogs. Two leaders, fighting for the same rights, had two very different opinions on how to react.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. - Martin Luther King Jr.
