Civil rights leaders can change everything no matter what the cost. A good leader will never back down, and they will always be fully confident in there topic, and have many open opinions. Civil rights leaders are very dedicated to their job, and the people who they are trying to persuade. They are always trying to understand the people who maybe don’t agree with their decision. Such as Rosa Parks; she was very dedicated to the Civil rights movement and was "fully" prepared for the upcoming changes. The white people started to see resistance with the colored people not giving up their seats and that's exactly what Rosa Parks did. With Martin Luther King Jr. he was one of the biggest leaders and he is most famous for his I have a dream speech. In the speech he was very persuasive, confident, and he used many metaphors to explain the racism that the colored people are going through. Martin Luther King Jr. always stuck to the nonviolent approach for the movement. The nonviolent approach came from Gandhi and during the Civil rights movement there was a lot of violence from the white people and for the colored people the nonviolence meant no talking back, no eye contact, and especially no resistance. With Malcom X he had the opposite approach of violence. He thought that if the white people were hitting the colored then the colored people need to hit them back. If the black people were not being served then the white people shouldn’t be served. The freedom riders could also be considered a great example of strong leaders. They were going from state to state on the Greyhound and Trail ways buses to go into diners and get there reaction to them refusing to move into the black area, and the white freedom riders would go into the colored areas; they would try to be served. The worst time during their trip was in Alabama. They got a visit from Martin Luther King Jr. and he said you will never make it through Alabama because they are waiting for you and will beat and kill you. Turns out that he was right and they were severely beaten by thousands of people. This is injustice, the police were there and basically said that they could beat them for 15 minutes. All of the people were sent to the hospital and when they got out they tried to continue on but most of the bus drivers would nervous and would not drive them worrying about the other bus that was burnt down. Civil rights leaders were one of the strongest and proudest leaders that American will ever see. - Megan Quinn
