Choosing the Right Environment
There were many different protests that took place during the civil rights movement. Below are the types of protests that took place during the civil rights movement. Also, the map button will take you to a map that contains 6 different events that correlate to protesting.
- Freedom Rides were bus rides through segregated cities containing white and black protesters. They would attend Lunch Sit-ins. Their goal was to change the hate and discrimination that took place in bus stations, on buses, and during lunch sit-ins.
- Lunch Sit-ins were sit-ins for lunch at a restaurant that Freedom Riders attended.
- Simple standing up for what one believed was wrong was also a very efficient way of protesting.
