Civil rights leaders
There were two main civil rights leaders during the civil rights movement. They each had their opinions. But, there are many other civil rights leaders that are from the past and present. Why is there a need for civil rights leaders? Without these leaders, how would our society be? Would there be any wars? In these three essays, different opinions on these questions will be answered.
Out of the two leaders, the most known is Martin Luther King Jr. He is known for his persistence and non-violent ideas. He served as the face of the civil rights movement. Hoping that in not just America, but all over the world, a colorblind society where ones civil's rights wouldn't be impacted by race could be created by his ideas and his protests. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968.
The second leader is known as Malcolm X. Taking a different approach to the growing problem of racial discrimination, he supported violence. He believed that if he was met with violence, he would fight with violence. He was assassinated on February 21, 1965.
